Synology® Launches Their Latest Scalable High-Performance RackStation, the RS814(RP)+

Press release date: January 14, 2014

Latest product offering optimized for business environment, with an emphasis on scalability in addition to Synology's award-winning feature set

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Synology America Corp. is pleased to announce the release of its latest RackStation NAS with the RS814+, and RS814RP+ (Redundant Power). The RS814(RP)+ is a high-performance 4-bay 1U server, designed to scale up to 8-bays when using an RX410 expansion module.

The RS814(RP)+ is optimized for business environments. It provides the scalability growing companies need, with equivalent performance to Synology's award-winning DS1813+. The same quad-NIC configuration, fuels read operations at over 300MB/s and write speeds over 190MB/s.

Both units are optimized with 2GB of RAM - upgradable to 4GB - to make multi-tasking under heavy workloads effortless. For added redundancy, the RS814(RP)+ supports Synology High Availability to reduce network downtime, as well as LAG, and MPIO failover support.

Shipping with Synology's award-winning DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.3, the RS814(RP)+ takes advantage of DSM's business-oriented features including:

--  VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V support with vSphere® 5, and VAAI integration
--  AD, Windows ACL, and LDAP integration - easily deploy Synology products into your existing environment
--  VPN Server - for providing a secure way of connecting to your LAN from a remote location
--  Cloud Station - keeps files, file types, and folders in sync across all devices

"The RS814(RP)+ takes everything that is great about our award-winning DS1813+, and thoughtfully engineers it into a 1U rack configuration," said Thadd Weil, Public Relations Manager at Synology America Corp. "The RS814(RP)+ is already tremendous value. With DSM 5.0 rolling out later this year with its rich array of business-specific features, it will become even better."
