Solar Owners and Operators Can Manage Hundreds of Remote Solar Sites From Single Webview with New Technology from Fat Spaniel Technologies and Morningstar

New TriStar Multi-Site Manager Monitors Health of Multiple Off-Grid Sites

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 28 -- Fat Spaniel Technologies, Inc. (FST), the leading provider of critical data communications and monitoring infrastructure for the distributed generation industry, today announced the availability of the TriStar Multi-Site Manager, a product designed to allow owner/operators of multiple remote solar power systems the ability to instantly and simultaneously evaluate the health of all off-grid sites using FST web-based technology. On the heels of the Morningstar TriStar Web View product release, the intuitive Multi-Site Manager shows the real-time status of each site via a dashboard webview, allowing the user an accurate snapshot of the health of remote systems. Sites needing attention are highlighted, and users can drill down into the webview to evaluate the fault or error conditions at each site.

Together, the TriStar Web View and Multi-Site Manager represent a remote monitoring solution that combines advanced hardware and software to provide live energy data from off-grid power systems via the Internet. Based on proven on-grid energy monitoring technology developed by Fat Spaniel Technologies, this product leverages TriStar's Web View communication capabilities to manage remote power systems from any web browser.

"Many of our TriStar Charge Controller customers operate multiple PV power systems that are in difficult-to-access locations. This presents a time- consuming, expensive challenge when in comes to maintaining the health of those systems," said Lee Gordon, CEO of Morningstar. "Together with Fat Spaniel, we can now offer our customer base the ability to diagnose a problem remotely and prevent costly site visits and possible downtime."

The TriStar Web View communicates power system status from the TriStar controller over a broadband or wireless Internet connection to a website for 24/7 access. The website displays real-time and historic data as well as advance alerts of any potential system problems. All of the hardware and software is included to enable a simple "plug and play" installation. By avoiding expensive site visits, the TriStar Web View will reduce the life cycle costs of off-grid power systems.

"Our continuing efforts with Morningstar center around solving our customers' most critical and costly problems," said Thomas Dinkel, Vice President of Sales for Fat Spaniel Technologies. "By allowing users to check the status of all of their remote sites in a single view, they can minimize potential risk and predict potential problems, without waiting for trouble calls from their customers."
