New Fox Miniature Watch Crystal Smallest Available; Features Ultra Low Profile of Less Than 1 mm
Fort Myers, FL, October 2003– Fox Electronics, America’s leading supplier of frequency control products, now offers the smallest miniature watch crystal available, measuring just 3.2 mm x 1.2 mm with an extremely low profile of 0.95 mm. The extremely small size of the new FSN watch crystal makes it ideal for applications where space is critical, such as in portable and handheld devices.
With a frequency of 32.768 kHz, the new FSN surface mount device (SMD) is optimized for a standard 12.5 pF load capacitance, with an optional 7 pF load capacitance available. Frequency tolerance at 25°C (77°F) is -20 to +20 ppm and frequency stability is -0.045 ppm / (deltaC°)2 over the standard operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to 185°F).
Turnover temperature range is +20°C to +30°C (68°F to 86°F) and storage temperature is -55°C to +125°C (-67°F to 257°F). Maximum equivalent series resistance of the new FSN crystal is 50 kohms and insulation resistance is 500 Mohms at 100 VDC.
The new watch crystal comes standard in a 3,000-unit tape and reel for automatic assembly systems.
