February 12, 2004 - With Compact Flash Type II form factor, Microdrive™ uses HDD technology to store information so users can share data with other ThinkPad notebooks and devices. It weighs less than one AA battery, has footprint of less than 1 in.˛, and provides Plug and Play removable storage. Product is suited for applications that have high data/image and portability requirements. Included PC Card adapter lets users insert it into Type II PC card slots.

Overview

Take advantage of the latest removable disk drive technology by adding the IBM 4 GB1 Microdrive™ to your ThinkPad® notebook. This new Microdrive weighs less than a AA battery, has a footprint measuring less than one square inch, and can hold almost 2800 times more data or images than a diskette. It offers high performance for applications that have high data/image and portability requirements.

The 4 GB Microdrive uses HDD technology to store information. The PC Card lets you share data with other ThinkPad notebooks and devices. It has an industry-standard Compact Flash Type II form factor, and included PC Card adapter so you can plug the Microdrive into a Type II PC card slot2.

With its small size and industry-standard removable format, this Microdrive is an ideal storage solution for “go anywhere” computing applications used by today's “go anywhere” mobile computer users.
