89BSD Media Isolated Digital Output Pressure Sensor
Measurement Specialties, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEAS) has just released to production its new 89BSD media isolated digital output pressure sensor. This 7mm diameter small profile, ASIC calibrated pirezoresistive silicon pressure sensor is designed with threaded o-ring mounting for high performance, low pressure applications. It utilizes silicone oil to transfer pressure from its 316L stainless steel diaphragm to the sensing element.
The 24-bit DS ADC 89BSD is configured in a backside, header-less design with a pressure range from 6 to 28Bar in either absolute or sealed gage reference type. Operating from -40°C to +85°C, it features both pressure and temperature read-out capabilities with a maximum TEB up to ±3.0% and a temperature accuracy of ±2.0°C at a temperature resolution of .01°C. With a supply voltage of 1.8 to 3.6Vdc, this low power pressure sensor supports an I2C interface protocol and is fitted with a flex cable to allow it to connect to a small terminal where size is of primary concern.
This backside digital output pressure sensor can be used for various applications such as: level controls, tank level measurement, corrosive fluids and gas measurement systems, OEM equipment, sealed systems, manifold pressure measurement, barometric pressure measurement and dive computers. Other configurations with the 89BSD are possible, such as a titanium option, so please feel free to contact MEAS with your custom application needs.
