Original Press Release:

Imtra's New High-Output LED Marine Utility Lights Replace Legacy 2- & 4-Foot Fluorescent Shop Lights

Leading LED Manufacturer’s Breakthrough Remote Phosphor Technology Results in Highest Output Linear LED Fixture

New Bedford, Mass. – Imtra, a leading manufacturer of advanced LED Solutions, announced today its latest high-output LED utility lights, the Imtra 2-Foot LED Marine Utility Light and the Imtra 4-Foot LED Marine Utility Light. Brighter and more efficient than any other fluorescent or LED linear fixture on the market, the new lights from Imtra are the first true LED solution for 2- and 4-foot fluorescent fixtures, providing greater light output at 40% less power. Ideal for wide-area illumination in engine rooms, utility areas and other workspaces on yachts and commercial vessels, LED Marine Utility Lights from Imtra set a new bar for on-board illumination.

The new Imtra LED Marine Utility Light lowers power consumption while providing more uniform light distribution and greater light output than legacy fluorescent products. Using a patented Remote Phosphor Process, Imtra’s new light fixtures reduce heat at the LED chip level, providing for increased efficiencies — resulting in completely uniform light distribution with far greater light output per watt than any current linear fixture on the market, including existing LED fixtures. Both LED Utility Light models deliver a bright luminous flux, providing 4,200 lumens at just 43 watts (2-foot model) and 8,400 lumens at 86 watts (4-foot model). Multiple Imtra LED Marine Utility Lights can be daisy chained together for even greater light output; a convenient dual 2-foot fixture kit is also available complete with a y-cable and wire harness.

“The Imtra LED Marine Utility Light is truly a groundbreaking product,” said Kinder Woodcock, lighting product development manager, Imtra. “It was engineered using patented technology to achieve efficiencies and light output that has never been seen in a package this compact. It is the first practical LED replacement for 2- and 4-foot fluorescent utility lights that does not sacrifice light output. In addition, with a 50,000 hour service-life rating, they will provide the best, high-quality illumination available for years to come.”

Imtra LED Marine Utility Lights are rated at a functional life of 50,000 hours and feature a solid-state design that is vibration proof and should never require servicing. Unlike fluorescent lights, the LED fixtures do not pose a risk of broken glass or Mercury leakage. The durable product eliminates the maintenance cost associated with frequently changing bulbs, the need to carry and store large, delicate replacement bulbs, and the recycling cost of disposing bulbs that contain mercury. Both models, as well as the dual 2-foot fixture kit, are supplied with an external AC to DC driver for use with 120V or 230V power sources. A 24VDC version will be available in the near future. The new LED fixtures are more compact than legacy florescent fixtures — measuring 25.41-inches (645mm) long by 4.66-inches (118mm) wide by a very low-profile 1.91-inches (49mm) high and 49.41-inches (1255mm) by 4.66-inches (118mm) by 1.91-inches (49mm) for the 2-foot and 4-foot models, respectively. Designed to withstand the harsh marine environment, the LED Utility Lights feature a low copper anodized aluminum casing with A360 die cast aluminum powder coated end caps and a UV protected polycarbonate lens. Rated at the IP66 level for dust and water ingress, the fixtures employ a unique, ‘breathing’ vent with a Liquid/Particle Repelling Membrane that allows air molecules to pass in/out freely while repelling liquids & particles — providing an ideal thermal management system for the LEDs. Imtra LED Marine Utility Lights are rated to the MIL Spec standard for salt and fog, fully FCC compliant, manufactured in the USA and backed by a five-year warranty.
