Machine Vision System features auto-teach inspection.
December 6, 2012 -
With Auto-Teach Inspection, users first teach CV-X100 Series what is good part by analyzing and recording image data. Any parts that are different from learned image data will be detected as defective. High-precision measurements can be done through mouse operations, with no calculations required. Since good image is crucial for stable vision inspection, Camera Installation Replication tool guides users to adjust camera and lens with correct position, focus, and brightness settings.

KEYENCE introduces the newest addition to their Machine Vision product lineup, the CV-X100 Series. Designed to be easy to use yet powerful, the intuitive interface allows users of all levels to quickly and easily set up robust inspections for their application needs. New tools include Auto-Teach Inspection, point and click measurement tools, and more. With the use of these new tools, inspections are quicker and easier to create than ever before.
The Auto-Teach Inspection is a smart tool that is able to automatically create an inspection based off of a set of good parts. Users first teach the CV-X100 what is a “good” part by analyzing and recording the image data. Stable inspection is accomplished as the tool will then automatically recognize variations that exist in the “good” parts. Any parts that are different from the learned “good” image data will be detected as defective. The Auto-Teach is programmed to account for even subtle color differences in the subject parts by utilizing the full color information.
Simple Point and Click Measurements
High-precision measurements can be done quickly and easily through simple mouse operations, with no calculations required. Users simply choose the dimension they are looking for, and then draw a line on the top and left edges of the object. The intersection is automatically calculated. Even the most complex objects can be measured quickly. If units other than pixels are required, scaling can be easily applied.
Camera Re-adjustment Tool
A good image is crucial for a stable vision inspection. The Camera Installation Replication tool guides users to adjust the camera and lens with the correct position, focus, and brightness settings. The tool uses a pre-registered image to compare the current image with. The result is an easy way to re-adjust bumped cameras or to quickly implement the same vision inspection onto other lines.
User Manual Auto-Generator
The standard manual often contains much more information than necessary. This makes troubleshooting time consuming and difficult. With a single click, the new CV-X100 PC software can automatically generate a user manual customized to the user’s specific programs. The generated manual will include explanations of the main parameters, a list of tools to be used, basic tool settings, and more. It can also include (if desired) tips describing how each tool’s parameter is typically adjusted.
