Measuring 1U high, Xcite has plug-and-play architecture that lets users configure custom power solution in under 5 min. Modular solution may be populated with up to 6 Excelsys powerMods (configurable dc output modules), providing adjustable output voltages of 2.5, 5, 12, 24, and 48 Vdc and output power from 400-1,200 W. All outputs are fully isolated and may be connected in series or parallel. For efficiencies to 90%, unit uses low-loss switching technologies and planar magnetics.

Xcite 1200 Watt Power Supply is Only 1U High; Boasts 15 Watts Per Cubic Inch Power Density
County Cork, Ireland, March 13, 2007 --- Excelsys Technologies, the world specialists in high efficiency configurable power supplies, announces the Xcite 1200W modular power supply. Xcite features a very low 1U profile, 15W/in² power density, 90% efficiency and an innovative "plug and play" architecture that allows users to configure a custom power solution in less than 5 minutes.
The high efficiency is the result of using low loss switching technologies and the best field-proven planar magnetics. The Xcite's very high efficiency reduces system thermal load by more than 50% over conventional designs and improves power supply and system reliability.
The low 1U profile is critical to many of today's space-limited designs. The low profile is the result of using planar magnetics and extensive use of surface mount assembly. Despite the low profile, the Xcite chassis may be populated with up to 6 Excelsys powerMods (configurable DC output modules) providing adjustable output voltages of 2.5V, 5V, 12V, 24V and 48VDC and output power ranging from 400 to 1200W.
All output are fully isolated and may be connected in series or parallel as required. A separate 5VDC "standby" voltage is also provide for system administrators and front panel LED's provide visual system status checks.
All possible output configurations are fully safety agency approved.
