Linear Servo Amplifiers Feature High Power, Ultra Low Noise Performance

TORRANCE, CA - January 5, 2005 - Varedan Technologies (www.varedan.com) has developed a line of Linear Servo Amplifiers that are ideal for high precision motion applications. With their true linear output, these amplifiers eliminate radiated noise and cross over distortion typically found in pulse width modulated (PWM) amplifiers.

The LA series of transconductance Linear Servo Amplifiers are available in 200-watt and 400-watt configurations. These current mode servo amplifiers are well suited to drive a wide range of inductive loads such as brushless and brush servo motors or voice coils. They are also ideal for driving low friction air bearing stages due their inherent stability and high bandwidth. Commutation options include externally commutated 2-phase sine input or trapezoidal commutation using motor mounted hall sensors.

The design of these amplifiers includes an on board high speed DSP which monitors all key system functions in real time providing protection for the outputs by limiting output power to a "Safe Operating Area". An intelligent user interface allows setup and storage of all system parameters via a serial interface. Non-volatile memory provides storage of the parameters during power off conditions.

A unique Autobalance feature saves time in set up and manufacturing, eliminating the need to balance the amplifier manually - a time consuming task typically performed by skilled technicians.

Varedan Technologies designs and manufactures custom and standard motion control products such as servo drives, stepper drives and motion controllers for OEM applications. Visit us on the web at www.varedan.com.
