March 27, 2009 - Optimized for 2.4-6 GHz 802.11/UNII/ISM applications, QSS 400 SurgeGuard(TM) series quarter wave stub lightning protectors are ruggedized, weatherproof to IP68 standards, and withstand multiple strikes and transients up to 60 kApk. Units offer bidirectional protection, 1.05 typical VSWR, normal/reverse polarity, high RF power, and ultra-low let-through. At 2.45 x 1.26 in. with N connectors, they are available in various coaxial connector and gender configurations.

Westford, MA, March 25, 2009 - NexTek, Inc., a leading designer of best-in-class lightning protection and EMC / power conditioning products and services, announces the development of a new line of SurgeGuard(TM) quarter wave stub lightning protectors. Designed specifically for Wi-Fi and WiMAX applications, the QSS 400 series exceeds 802.11, UNII, ISM and MIL-STD-202 standards. OEMs have begun installing the QSS 400 series in wireless applications that operate in frequencies ranging from 2.4 GHz to 6 GHz.

The QSS 400 series is extremely compact, measuring only 62.2 mm (2.45") X 32 mm (1.26") diameter (with N connectors). It features best-in-class performance specifications including bi-directional protection, low VSWR (1.05 typical), normal and reverse polarity, high RF power and ultra-low let-through. Using robust materials of construction the maintenance free QSS 400 series is ruggedized, weatherproof to IP68 standards, and can withstand multiple strikes as well as very high transients up to 60kApk.
