Legrand® Introduces New Night Lights

Press release date: July 24, 2014

Safety, durability and energy efficiency are key aspects of the new night lights

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Legrand, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, today announced the extension of its Pass & Seymour® Night Light line with the introduction of four new products.

They include three 15Amp versions - P&S Duplex Decorator Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light, P&S Single Pole/3-Way Switch with Night Light and the P&S Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light. A standard P&S Full Night Light is also available.

All have a sensor that automatically controls the Night Light based on the amount of ambient light available and an innovative Soft Glow energy efficient LED light that is cool to the touch with a significant lifespan of more than 20 years. The 120/125V lights are also cULus compliant.

The Duplex Decorator Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light, Full Night Light and Single Pole/3-Way Switch with Night Light versions have four adjustable light settings - Off, Ultra Low, Low, Medium and High. The Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light features a standard factory set light level.

The two outlets on the Duplex Decorator Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light and the single outlet on the Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light contain Tamper-Resistant shutters that prevent the insertion of foreign objects.  In addition, all the Night Lights have a sealed design which also helps to prevent tampering.

“Not only do the new Night Lights boost the safety of a home for seniors by decreasing the chance of tripping over objects that may be undetectable in the dark, but they also keep children safe by reducing their ability to insert foreign objects in the outlets,” said Thomas Roy Sr., product line manager, Legrand Electrical Wiring Systems Division. “They are perfect for bathrooms, hallways, stairs, kitchens and nurseries.”

The Duplex Decorator Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with Night Light and Full Night Light both ship with optional louvers for additional light level options.

The Night Lights are available in a variety of colors including black, white, light almond and ivory.

The new Pass & Seymour Night Lights are available in the United States and Canada.
