Eight color-coded combinations available for segregating and identifying networks
Milwaukee, WIÂ – HellermannTyton (www.hellermann.tyton.com), a global manufacturer and supplier of network cabling solutions and cable management accessories, introduces a keyed LC fiber connectivity solution that provides an additional level of network security and privacy by limiting the chance of unauthorized network connections. This new keyed LC system allows for physical separation of network segments in secure fiber cabling infrastructures with the secondary benefit of limiting accessibility to networks through a physically restrictive cross connect system. This full solution includes secure keyed LC color-coded duplex adapter panels, jumpers and connectors, and pre-terminated fiber cassettes.
At the center of HellermannTyton’s Keyed Fiber system is a set of color-matched connectors and jumpers.
The eight coordinated colors offer a built-in keyed design that was crafted using a unique combination of protrusions and slots on both the plug and connector of each duo. This keying feature cannot be duplicated with standard LC components thus preventing any accidental or unlawful access to a private network, making this the ideal solution for military, government, and secure network applications.
HellermannTyton’s Keyed Fiber Solution is completed by RapidNet® Keyed LC Cassettes that offer pre-terminated cassettes loaded with the Keyed Connectors at both ends of the link. With the Keyed Jumpers, a secure fiber solution can be implemented with minimal effort and installation time. The Keyed LC solution supports both single-mode and multimode applications. With the ceramic ferrules, the insertion loss for multimode is .15dB and single mode is .08dB.
