New Pti-225 Leak Test Instrument Features Testing Chambers for Efficient Non-Destructive Leak Testing Filled and Sealed Pouches

APPLICATION: The new drawer unit offers testing of multiple pouches of different sizes

Leak testing of other packages such as trays & cups with PTI-225

Tuckahoe, New York: PTI (Packaging Technologies & Inspection LLC) introduces a new inspection solution for filled and sealed retort food pouches as well as pharmaceutical and medical pouches, wherever package integrity may be a safety issue. The Pti-225 leak tester is now offered with a new drawer type tooling, designed for pouches, offering unique efficiency and precision. Different size pouches can be placed into the testing drawer simultaneously. An entire batch of different size pouches can now be tested at once.

The Pti-225 Leak Tester is a low cost, versatile package inspection system that can be used for filled and sealed cups, trays and pouches, made of porous or non-porous materials. Testing chambers are custom designed for each different type of package. PTI offers manual as well as fully automatic testing stations. The Pti-225 inspection system features a touch screen interface, is easy to operate and offers rapid changeover to a full range of products via a simple change in tooling. The system features RS232 quality control data collection for further package evaluation or quality performance tracking. The system stores up to 20 different testing programs for 20 different types of packages. The different programs are called up whenever more packages of that particular type need to be tested or evaluated.

The Pti-225 is a true turnkey inspection system. It offers a customized leak test chamber, calibration, validation and computerized testing data. Testing collection data format meets FDA CFR 21 part 11. A comprehensive IQ, OQ, PQ validation qualification package in compliance with FDA regulations is available.

The recently approved ASTM F2338-03 test method was based on the PTI sponsored research studies utilizing the Pti-225 vacuum decay leak tester. This ASTM F2338-03 approval marks a significant breakthrough in the field of package integrity testing for porous materials. PTI has successfully met the unique challenge of non-destructively inspecting packages made porous materials using the Pti-225 Leak Test System, providing rapid, precise, consistent, and repeatable test results.
