June 14, 2012 - Comprised of FS01-MTiS45S-25.4 and FS01-MTiS45P-25.4 turning mirrors, PulseLine(TM) femtosecond laser optics are IBS-coated for durability and exhibit over 99% reflectivity. IBS coating manufacturing process also helps minimize absorption and scattering losses. Offered in 1 in. size, mirrors reflect light at 45° angle of incidence and cover full Ti:sapphire laser tuning range of 680-1,080 nm. Uses include applications guiding femtosecond laser beams from output of laser head to sample.

Semrock Unveils Femtosecond Laser Mirrors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Semrock, Inc., released the first two products in the soon-to-be expanded line of PulseLine(TM) femtosecond laser optics. These 45° turning mirrors are IBS-coated for maximum durability and feature high reflectivity (R > 99%), low dispersion and a high laser damage threshold over a broad wavelength range.

The FS01-MTiS45S-25.4 and FS01-MTiS45P-25.4 turning mirrors reflect light at a 45 degree angle of incidence and are available immediately in a standard 1 inch (25.4 mm) size. They are ideal for applications where femtosecond laser beams need to be guided from the output of the laser head to the sample, and are especially useful in multiphoton microscopy and femtosecond laser spectroscopy. These are ideal for covering the full Ti:sapphire laser tuning range of 680-1080 nm.

As a result of the IBS coating manufacturing process, these mirrors have very low absorption and scattering losses and will withstand high laser intensities. Third party measurements using 20 ns pulsed light at 1064 nm revealed LDT values in excess of 20 J/cm2.

Always innovating, Semrock will release more PulseLine products later in 2012 to meet the needs of demanding applications in ultrafast laser science and applications.

ABOUT SEMROCK:

Semrock, Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, manufactures optical filters that set the standard in performance and reliability for the biotech and analytical instrumentation industries, as well as innovative optical filters for more general laser and optical systems applications. All Semrock optical filters are made with hard ion-beam-sputtered optical coatings. OEM filters are manufactured in volume. End-users benefit from a wide selection of standard catalog products that ship from stock. Semrock's patented and patent-pending products include its highly acclaimed BrightLine® fluorescence filters, state-of-the-art filters for Raman spectroscopy, and other unique filters for lasers and optical systems. Semrock's innovative products, made possible by combining modern ion-beam sputtering with Semrock's proprietary volume manufacturing technology, are covered under a five-year warranty.

Founded in September 2000, Semrock is based in Rochester, New York, a well-known center of optics, and has sales offices throughout the United States. In October 2008 Semrock became a Unit of IDEX Corporation.
