Hydrogen Sensor employs chemi-resistive ceramic technology.

Press Release Summary:

Used to detect if hydrogen level approaches Lower Flammability Limit (LFL), SenseH2(TM) employs chemi-resistive ceramic technology and delivers stable operation over -20 to +80°C temperature and 5%-95% humidity ranges. It offers less than 5 sec response and recovery times and is immune to signal saturation upon continuous exposure. Also, product is insensitive to other combustible gases, such as CO and CH4.

NTM Sensors Announces SenseH2(TM) Hydrogen Sensor in Production and Being Shipped to Fulfill Customers' Orders

NTM Sensors announces production release - SenseH2(TM) Hydrogen Sensor

Lewis Center, OH - NTM Sensors, a division of NexTech Materials, Ltd., is pleased to announce the new hydrogen sensor; SenseH2(TM) with the tag line "We sense a GREEN future" has been released in September, 2010 for full-scale production and distribution to customers.

Hydrogen is ordinarily used as a reducing agent for many industrial applications. Hydrogen is also emitted when lead acid batteries degrade or malfunction. Hydrogen gas is also the primary fuel used in PEM fuel cells. Since hydrogen is flammable in concentrations of 4% or greater in ambient air, it is imperative to have hydrogen sensors in place to detect if a hydrogen level approaches the Lower Flammability Limit (LFL).

SenseH2(TM) employs a chemi-resistive ceramic technology and represents a significant technological leap forward in hydrogen detection. Dr. Lora Thrun, Director of Commercialization, for NexTech Materials, Ltd. lists the following key technical features that are incorporated into the SenseH2(TM) hydrogen sensor product:

Features
  • Stable operation over wide temperature range (-20° to 80° C) and humidity (5% to 95%)
  • Insensitive to other combustible gases such as CO and C H4
  • Fast response and recovery times (<5 seconds)
  • Immune to signal saturation upon continuous exposure
  • Insensitive to flow rate (up to 5 m / sec.)

We look forward to discussing specific applications with our many potential customers in the marketplace. For more information please visit our website at www.ntmsensors.com.
