August 1, 2008 - Producing ignition through low-voltage DC current, Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system does not require special grounding wire or need to create EMI. Featuring input voltages of 12 Vdc, and 24, 120, and 240 Vac, CSA certified unit can resist contamination, humidity, and rough handling. Protective oxidation layer around system's coil enables no-fail igniting, while spark electrodes can corrode and hot-surface ignition system elements may break with continued use.

Channnel Products' Quik-Lighter(TM) Hot-Wire Ignition System Operates in Challenging Applications

CHESTERLAND, OHIO - July 2008 - The new Quik-Lighter(TM) hot-wire ignition system, from Channel Products Inc., operates in challenging ignition applications and reduces design obstacles. Using a proprietary heating element, the new ignition system is resistant to contamination, humidity and rough handling, which can interfere with hot-surface element and high voltage spark ignition systems.

A protective oxidation layer around the system's coil enables no-fail igniting, while spark electrodes can corrode and hot-surface ignition system elements may break with continued use. The Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system has the flexibility to allow direct application replacement of existing hot-surface elements and high-voltage spark electrodes. The hot-wire ignition system provides fast ignition times on both natural gas and propane, with short warm-up times.

CSA certified, the Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system delivers ignition in three to five seconds through low-voltage DC current, does not require special grounding wire or create electromagnetic interference. It has input voltages of 12 VDC, 24 VAC, 120 VAC and 240 VAC and a portable battery. Combination ignition controls include timing, fan control and safety functions.

"The new Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system allows operation in especially challenging ignition applications, such as harsh or wet environments, with more durability than hot-surface and spark ignition systems. Its design features allow manufacturers to bring their products to market faster because the Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system can easily be applied to existing burner systems, with better results," said Steve Hussell, director of marketing and sales, Channel Products.

In business for more than 30 years, Channel Products Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high-value, innovative ignition and control products.
