Fond du Lac, WI-May 2002 -- Giddings & Lewis Machine Tools will feature the latest addition to the G&L boring mill family, the PC 50, at the upcoming International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS). The PC 50 boring mill continues G&L traditions of rigid construction, large capacity and reliability. Designed to appeal to a wide range of manufacturers, the 1600 x 1250 mm (63 x 49 inch) table-type boring mill is value priced at just $475,000. Accurate - Powerful - Flexible
The rigidity of the cast iron frame and box ways of the PC 50 Horizontal Boring Mill provide a solid base for heavy metal removal and a high level of performance with positioning accuracy of .0004 in and repeatability of .0002 inch. The powerful 60 hp two-speed headstock houses a flexible bar-type spindle. The W-axis travel of the 4000-rpm live spindle lets manufacturers use the latest tooling.
