Heat-Shrinkable Probe Covers feature .010 in. thick wall.

Press Release Summary:

Tef-Cap Probe Covers slip over standard size probes and shrink when exposed to heat source of approximately 300°F. Encapsulating probe in 2-3 min, heat-shrinkable, FEP and PFA probe covers protect thermocouples, RTD's, and sensors as well as glass thermometers and glass thermo-wells. Covers also add round, conforming, pinhole-free seal to fluoropolymer tubing. Both covers are chemically inert and FDA compliant.

Original Press Release:

Heat Shrinkable Teflon FEP & PFA Probe Covers

Tef-Cap Industries has developed a method of sealing the ends of heat shrinkable Fluoropolymer tubing that results in a smooth, round, conforming, pinhole -free seal.

Tef-Cap Probe Covers are supplied with a .010-inch thick wall, much thicker than conventional TFE, FEP or PFA spray coatings that are often only .001 inch thick. They are chemically inert and FDA compliant.

Encapsulation of costly stainless steel parts not only expands the life of the probe but increases its potential use in any corrosive environment.

Our Probe Covers are designed to slip over standard size probes and shrink when exposed to a heat source of approximately 300ºF. Specific shrinking instructions are available upon request. A typical probe encapsulation should take no more than two to three minutes.

Thermocouples, Probes, RTD's and a variety of sensors all benefit from the protection offered by Fluoropolymer Probe Covers. Tef-Cap has extensive knowledge and equipment plus testing facilities to ensure that your probe is properly encapsulated and protected.

If you are not comfortable with shrinking Tef-Cap Probe Covers on your instruments why not have Tef-Cap do the encapsulation for you. All probes can be encapsulated and returned on an expedited basis - generally no more than one or two days are required.

Delicate instruments such as glass thermometers and glass thermo-wells also benefit from encapsulation. With complete encapsulation there is no more worry about mercury or glass contamination.
