January 2, 2002 - ProAir heat exchangers can significantly reduce heat rise in sealed, uninsulated enclosures and extend life of enclosed electronics. Model XR20 will limit heat rise to 24°F above ambient and XR29 will keep temperature within 15°F above ambient. Both are available in 115 or 230 V and 50/60 Hz configurations and can be mounted to any internal or external surface of enclosure. Heat exchangers are UL /cUL, CE, UL50 type 12 and UL3R approved.

APW Announces New Expanded Line of McLean Brand ProAir(TM) Heat Exchangers

CHAMPLIN, Minnesota (APW: NYSE) APW announces a new expanded line of McLean brand ProAir heat exchangers. There are now seven ProAir heat exchangers models in stock and available in 115 or 230 volt and 50/60 Hz configurations. Efficiencies of these units range from 4 W/°F to 84 W/°F and operate in temperatures up to 155°F, making these some of the highest performing heat exchangers in the market today. The models range in size from: ProAir XR20 with dimensions of 20"H x 7.50"W x 3"D to ProAir XR60 with dimensions of 59.9"H x 15"W x 9.92"D. A sleek profile allows for mounting to applications with limited space requirements and is designed to mount to narrow or shallow enclosures. They can also be mounted to any internal or external surface of the enclosure.

The ProAir heat exchangers are UL /cUL, CE, UL50 type 12 and UL3R approved. The unique counterflow aluminum core provides high efficiency heat exchange that prevents excessive heat rise inside the cabinet/enclosure. A closed-loop design ensures that dirty, ambient air circulates separately from the clean enclosure air thereby maintaining the integrity of the enclosure and extending the life of the electronics.

The ProAir heat exchangers can significantly reduce the heat rise in sealed, uninsulated enclosures and extend the life of enclosed electronics. For example, in a small enclosure without a heat exchanger and a heat load of 300 Watts, the heat rise will be about 50°F above the ambient temperature. APW McLean's XR20 will limit the heat rise to approximately 24°F above the ambient and the XR29 will keep the temperature within about 15°F above ambient.

The filterless design of the ProAir heat exchangers makes the units virtually maintenance free. If routine cleaning is required, there are four fasteners that allow easy removal of the front cover.
