New Shield Provides Protection from High Pressure Gage Leaks
STRONGSVILLE, OH — A new protective shield for use on armored glass liquid level gages has been announced by Clark-Reliance Corporation. Safe View™ Shields protect nearby operators from high pressure leaks, a rare but potentially dangerous situation. The shields are easily retrofitted to Jerguson® brand level gages made by Clark-Reliance, or just as easily installed on similar gages made by other companies.
Made of tough Lexan® polycarbonate, Safe View Shields are available in lengths to fit all of the most popular flat glass gage styles. Installation takes only a few minutes per gage, allowing a quick retrofit of a single gage or an entire plant. “Flat glass gages are extremely reliable, however leaks can occur due to deferred maintenance and the rigors of continual operation under high pressure,” said Joe Collura, Jerguson Product Manager. “Our customers requested an added level of protection and we have responded with this easy-to-retrofit solution. Just like the safety belts in your car, these devices are installed with the understanding that they rarely will be needed to provide protection, but when needed are indispensable.”
A short video demonstrating the shields can be viewed at http://www.jerguson-safe-view.com.
