With automatic loading, max workpiece diameter is 140 mm and max workpiece length is 300 mm. Machine includes direct-drive digital work and cutter spindles, as well as composite epoxy bed, which ensures high static, dynamic, and thermal stability. Optional CNC-controlled gantry automation system is available.

South Elgin, IL, June 28, 2004: Koepfer America, LLC, of South Elgin, IL, now offers the Model 300 gear hobbing machine. The Model 300 provides a maximum pitch of 4.0 mm (6.35 DP) with a maximum workpiece diameter of 195 mm (7.677”) when manually loading (140 mm or 5.512” with automatic loading), and a maximum workpiece length of 500 mm (19.685”) when manually loading (300 mm or 11.811” with automatic loading). Some features of this machine are listed below.
• eight axes (nine with gantry loading system) of CNC control, allowing for nearly all gear cutting applications, including the timing of one gear to another on the same work piece and the timing of a gear tooth to an external or internal feature
• a composite epoxy bed, ensuring the highest possible static, dynamic, and thermal stability
• direct drive digital work and cutter spindles, providing consistency and accuracy over the life of the machine
• quick clamping work and cutter spindles, providing quick changeover
