Available in 0.150 and 0.100 in. 0Ds with 1.5 in. lengths, product allows for maximum utilization of space and is color-coded for various types and sizes of fiber.

Kulpsville, PA (April 2003) - Available now - a new SpliceGuard™ fiber optic fusion splice protector in two sizes from Greene, Tweed. Utilizing the proprietary Hermacrimp™ seal the new SpliceGuard™ protects the fusion splice from water, humidity, corrosive environments and particulate contamination.
Technical experience is not required to hermetically seal a fusion splice. The process is simple and does not require the use of messy and unreliable epoxies or all of the supplies associated with the use of heat shrink tubing. SpliceGuard™ is designed to operate in temperatures from -40°C to +150°C and at pressures up to 500 psi. Available in two sizes: 0.150 inch 0.D. by 1.5-inch length and 0.100 inch O.D. by 1.5-inch length, the new SpliceGuard™ allows for the maximum utilization of space. For convenience, the SpliceGuard™ protector is color coded for various types and sizes of fiber.
