McGill Inspection Lamp Puts Added Safety, Flexibility & Lumens Into User's Hands

(ROSEMONT, IL, MAY 2, 2006) The inspection of hazardous areas is critical to an effective maintenance and repair strategy. However, standard inspection lamps are ill-suited for use in hazardous locations, which are encountered in refineries, chemical processing plants, aircraft hangers and other places that contain explosive gases, liquids or dust.

To combat this problem, McGill offers an 8-watt tubular hand lamp that combines explosion-proof engineering with an energy-efficient fluorescent design. The lamp (model 5227-0004) is exceptionally cool running yet generates 450 lumens of clean, white light.

Users of the lamp will appreciate its narrow, lightweight design, especially in space-sensitive applications such as the inspection of aircraft fuel systems or railcars. Weighing in at about 3 pounds, it is 2.5 inches in diameter and 27 inches in length. Easy maintenance is a given, with only the glass globe requiring factory replacement.

The McGill Inspection Lamp is CSA certified and UL Listed for Class I, Div. 1, Group D and Class II, Groups G locations.
