Barton's Line of Access(R) BA200 Series Flow Rate Totalizers are Designed for Operation in Remote Locations

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA (April 3, 2002) - Barton's Access® BA200 Series include Rate Totalizers, a Heat Calculator, and an intrinsically safe Batch Controller. Designed for remote locations where external power is not readily available, these compact, rugged, polycarbonate, watertight instruments allow for direct, wall or pipe mounting. All models interface with turbine, positive-displacement and paddlewheel flowmeters, making them ideal for pipeline and irrigation applications as well as replacements for mechanical registers.

Three models of the BA202 rate totalizer include battery, loop and DC powered versions. For installation in hazardous locations, a certified intrinsically safe model is also available. The user-programmable models offer K-factor, decimal point positions, filter constants and time base. The battery-powered version incorporates long-life lithium batteries, while the two-wire 4-20 mA output (scalable) model offers a fast response to changes in flow rate. The DC input totalizer features high and low flow alarms. The BA202 also incorporates a digital filter that averages out pulsating flow fluctuations.

The BA212 heat calculator measures the energy (BTUs) consumed in hot water heating and chilled water cooling systems. Its datalogging flexibility allows the unit to store energy totals by hour, day, week or month. Totals can be downloaded to a PC via meter-bus or RS485 ports. The BA212 also combines peak and off-peak registers for totaling peak or off-peak energy.

The intrinsically safe BA214 batch controller is ideal for applications requiring precise control of the batch quantity in hazardous areas. A conditioning circuit accepts pulse or frequency inputs with a six-position DIP switch that allows the unit to be configured for a variety of signal types. The BA214 is also equipped with open collector outputs that provide control to solenoids and relays and can sink up to 200 mA.

Compact and cost-effective, the Access® BA200 flow-measurement instruments carry a variety of agency approvals. Each model incorporates a large LCD, front panel controls, and menu-driven programming for quick and easy setup.

Complete product specifications are included in a colorful brochure which is available on Barton's website at www.barton-instruments.com.
