Duct Boards are Ideal for Numerous Ventilation Applications
Lit Industries, Inc., a leading supplier of insulating products for thermal and acoustical applications, introduces its new Diffusor Board™ mat-faced, fiberglass duct board for HVAC applications. Diffusor Board is molded with double density, male/female edges, which ensure more secure connections. It is ideal for fabrication into rectangular ductwork for HVAC systems in new commercial and residential construction, as well as renovating old sheet metal systems.
Lit’s new duct board exhibits superior toughness in comparison to standard fiberglass duct boards. It provides increased resistance to damage that can occur during in-shop handling, fabrication, job-site shipping and installation.
The smooth mat facing creates a friendlier surface for fabrication and installation, and reduces exposure to normal construction dust. Diffusor Board decreases the audibility of crosstalk and equipment noise, and it eliminates the sounds associated with the expansion and contraction of sheet metal duct systems.
The airstream surface of the duct board is also treated with an antimicrobial agent, specifically registered with the EPA for HVAC applications to resist fungus or bacteria growth on the airstream surface. It also has a smooth interior surface that offers minimal resistance to airflow.
To facilitate cost-effective fabrication and installation, Lit’s mat-faced Diffusor Board is available in cartons or on pallets, in size configurations ranging from 1˝â€ť and 2” (38mm and 51mm) in thickness.
