Lathem Introduces FaceIN(TM): A Ground-Breaking Face Recognition System for Time and Attendance and Access Control

The FR700 FaceIN Device is Fast, Reliable, Hygienic and User-Friendly

ATLANTA - Lathem today launches the Model FR700, the first terminal in its new line of FaceIN(TM) Face Recognition Systems for time and attendance and access control. The FR700 wall-mounted terminal uses ground-breaking and innovative 3D-imaging technology to identify employees, enhance security and eliminate "buddy punching" (when employees clock in and out for each other), a costly expense for many employers. The FR700 is packed full of features demanded by today's security-conscious businesses:

o Uses foolproof face recognition technology to instantly identify employees

o Provides a hygienic touch-free alternative to hand and fingerprint readers

o Eliminates "buddy punching" and the need for cards and badges

o Uses a standard Ethernet connection to an existing computer network

o Supports 100 employees but can be easily expanded up to 500 per device

o Built in relay control for secure door access, operating as a controller for door lock systems

o Includes powerful desktop software for editing, running reports and exporting data to the most popular payroll software, including QuickBooks

With FaceIN, employees simply look at the device and within seconds, they are identified, clocked in/out or admitted into secure locations, making it one of the most intelligent human verification systems on the market. With its contactless operation, FaceIN provides a hygienic and more accurate solution than existing biometric alternatives. "FaceIN is the most reliable biometric system available today," said Tony Burks, Lathem product marketing manager. "It's easy to use and delivers superior accuracy over biometric fingerprint readers, which can fail due to readability issues. It is also a more affordable alternative to high-priced hand geometry readers."

FaceIN's touchless operation makes it ideal for any business, but especially those concerned with hygiene, such as food service or healthcare. Joe DeSalvo, director of Dining Services for West Virginia-based Aladdin Food Management, said, "FaceIN keeps employees from spreading bacteria and germs, which is important in our industry. It also prevents buddy punching and makes it easier for managers to pull time records for payroll."

The FaceIN system includes powerful desktop time and attendance software to automate payroll calculations, reducing clerical and data entry errors, which saves time and money. It allows for editing and running reports and exporting to popular payroll software programs such as QuickBooks, ADP and Paychex. FaceIN uses a standard Ethernet connection to an existing computer network, providing support for 100 employees, but can be easily expanded to 500 employees per device. The unit can also be used as a stand-alone verification and control system for individual door or facility-wide access control.

FaceIN is available through a worldwide network of Lathem authorized resellers. Detailed product information can be found on Lathem's website at www.lathem.com.
