Larson Electronics Announces Release of Explosion Proof LED Headlight

Larson Electronics has announced today the release of an explosion proof LED light designed to provide powerful hands free operation and long run times combined with hazardous location regulatory compliance. Featuring hands free operation, high output, and dual operating modes, the EXP-LED-HL-DFX Explosion Proof Dual Function Headlight can be worn on a hardhat or directly on the head, providing an easy to manage source of hands free illumination that can be used in most hazardous locations.

The Larson Electronics EXP-LED-HL-DFX explosion proof dual function headlight is designed to allow operators in hazardous locations to provide easy to manage hands free illumination that is ideal for task lighting and general work operations. This heavy duty headlamp features a powerful LED lamp fitted with a Luxeon emitter for high reliability and excellent light output, and dual operating modes that give the operator a choice of either high output for maximum brightness or low output for longer operating times. This convenient LED work light provides 120 lumens of high quality light for 4.5 hours in high mode and 70 lumens of light for 13.5 hours in low mode, letting operators choose functions according to the specific needs of the task at hand.  The housing on this unit is constructed of impact resistant engineering resin and has been drop test verified for proven durability, and a CREE® high intensity LED protected by an unbreakable polycarbonate lens provides extreme reliability and performance with up to 50,000 hours of operational lamp life. This head lamp is rubber O-ring sealed and equipped with a rubber domed push button switch to provide protection against the elements and weather resistant operation that can withstand damp or dusty conditions. This explosion proof LED light also provides added versatility through the inclusion of both an elastic strap for wearing the unit directly on the head, and a rubber strap for more secure non-slip attachment to hard hats.  Power for this light is provided by 3 AAA alkaline batteries, making it easy to replace batteries as needed. This LED headlamp is approved for use in hazardous locations and features ETL listed intrinsically safe approval and Class 1, Division 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D, Class 2, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G, and Class 3 ratings. The EXP-LED-HL-DFX explosion proof headlight is ideal for operators in mining, utilities, petrochemical and industrial manufacturing operations and provides an easy to operate source of powerful portable illumination that does not require handling or management other than switching the unit on as needed.

“This explosion proof LED headlamp is certified for use in the United States, Canada and around the world,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com.  “This Class 1 and Class 2 LED headlamp is simple, low cost and conforms to most heads and helmets alike.”
