Caron Introduces New Extra Large Capacity Environmental Test Chambers and Refrigerated Incubators

Marietta, OH — Caron is pleased to announce the latest generation of its category defining environmentally controlled stability chambers. These new products include extra large capacity Environmental Chambers (7000 Series) and Refrigerated Incubators (7001 Series) in two-door (50 cu. ft.) and three-door (75 cu. ft.) configurations. Caron will launch these products at VWR International, LLC’s America’s Sales Conference (ASC) January 12-14, 2014 in Orlando, Fla. Caron distributes its products primarily through VWR in the U.S. and Canada.

The new stability chambers are designed in accordance with FDA ICH Q1A Guidelines and are ideal for numerous customer applications, such as shelf life studies, stability and package testing, temperature elevation studies and more. Like Caron’s entire product line of environmentally controlled equipment, these precision-engineered chambers also include the unique, earth-friendly design features that yield up to 71% energy savings. The Environmental Chambers and Refrigerated Incubators feature a new 7” color touchscreen that is intuitive with easy-to-read icons and a familiar, user-friendly display that can be operated with gloves on. Users can monitor all operating conditions at one time, even from across the room.

“Caron strives to provide the most innovative and highest quality products available in the market, along with the best service and delivery times,” said Steve Keiser, Caron Chairman. “Caron customers have been asking us for high performance chambers in larger sizes, and we have responded with a new series of extra large capacity stability chambers that raise the standard.”

These new products are constructed of stainless steel inside and out, making them easy to clean and highly resistant to corrosion. They include and expand upon Caron’s key customer-convenient features such as:

• gROD™ Refrigeration on Demand, which manages power consumption and saves electricity by providing refrigeration as needed

• gVapor™ steam-free controlled humidity system delivers humidity vapor without wasting energy or producing heat

• 115V models that plug into standard laboratory electrical outlets

• Caron green door handles that are aesthetically pleasing and enhance ergonomics

• Tool-less removable interior makes products easy to clean and reconfigure

New features include:

• Absolute humidity control, which allows for faster open door recovery and quicker response time to setpoint changes

• Magnetic, self-closing doors with locks are standard

• Energy efficient, foamed-in-place, CFC-free foam insulation contributes to minimal heat loss

• The full-color user interface includes a configurable status center with built-in information updates, alerts and alarms to communicate a wide range of status conditions to the user

“We not only incorporated the energy saving refrigeration and humidity management systems Caron is known for, but added all new electronics to enhance visibility and simplify the user interface,” Keiser said. “Double and triple-wide stability chambers are a natural extension of the Caron product line and our customers can now benefit from the dependability, accuracy and uniformity inherent in Caron engineered products in sizes ranging from benchtops to triple-wide reach-in units.”

Environmental Chambers offer a temperature range of 5°C to 70°C and humidity range of 20% to 95%, giving users the flexibility to simulate a wide range of environmental conditions. Refrigerated Incubators control temperature from 5°C to 70°C, making them the ultimate choice for refrigerated storage.  Caron also offers Environmental Chambers and Refrigerated Incubators in a single-door configuration in 10, 25 and 33 cu. ft. sizes.
