Electromagnetic Chuck is used in machining hardened steel.
May 18, 2012 -
Engineered for hard milling applications, DMMC-HM Permanent-Electro Magnetic Chuck has no rare-earth magnets. Instead, magnetic material that is employed facilitates demagnetizing capability which facilitates removal of hardened steel workpieces from chuck surface. Each chuck has all-steel surface and is supplied flush, without any protrusions, resin, or soft metals. System is available in any size in 4 in. width or length increments, and each pole can deliver over 1,500 lb clamp force.

Magnetic Workholding Manufacturer Will Launch a New Product for Machining Hardened Steel at IMTS 2012
RALEIGH NC: DocMagnet, designers and manufactures of switchable magnets will be premiering their NEW Permanent-Electro Magnetic Chuck specifically engineered for hard milling applications (DMMC-HM).
Due to the development of a new magnetic material, there are no rare-earth magnets, facilitating a demagnetizing capability making it easier to remove hardened steel workpieces from the chuck surface. Each chuck has an all-steel surface and supplied flush with no protrusions - no resin and no soft metals.
The system is available in any size (4" increments width or length). Each pole can deliver over 1500 lbs clamp force and with each product, DocMagnet provides a stock removal calculator ensuring optimum cut performance.
The product will be on display at coming IMTS in the west hall booth 1092, but for additional information, visit our website at www.docmagnet.com
