Duff-Norton Expands Their Electric Cylinder Product Line


Charlotte, NC: Duff-Norton announces the new product release of the SCD Direct Drive SuperCylinder(TM) Electric Cylinders.

Duff-Norton now offers a complete line of direct drive Electric Cylinders with the introduction of the SCD Series electric cylinders. The SCD series Electric Cylinders have a maximum capacity of 3,780 lbs and a maximum speed of 13.6 in/sec.

Duff-Norton manufactures the industry's broadest range of high capacity Electric Cylinders. Features include capacities from 2 tons to 25 tons, clevis or trunnion mounting, offset, right angle, parallel, and in-line configurations; painted ductile iron or optional stainless steel housings, with speeds ranging up to 13.3 inches per second.

Duff-Norton Electric Cylinders are specially designed for a variety of commercial and industrial applications requiring opening and closing, tilting and pivoting, lifting and lowering and positioning. Applications include gates, dampers, oven doors, processing tank doors, antennas, orthopedic tables and other medical equipment, ergonomic furniture, and agricultural equipment, etc. Custom designs are also available for special applications. SuperCylinder(TM) electric cylinders are also being used to replace pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders where high maintenance costs and environmental problems (leaking hydraulic oil) are a concern.
