In addition to featuring modular components that allow for various configurations up to 6 NO/6 NC arrangements, 22.5 mm Series 04 and Series 44 E-Stops are available with protective shrouds in 50 and 83 mm versions. Latter is designed to meet SEMI S2-93/12.4c requirement by featuring OD of over 3 in. to allow for palm actuation. Both shrouds, made of Lexan®, incorporate anti-rotational notch as well as ability to lock with padlock to prevent unauthorized re-setting of machinery.

EAO Offers Protective Shrouds for E-Stops
Milford, CT - EAO Switch Corporation of Milford, CT USA, a premier global supplier
of Human Machine Interface (HMI) Components and Systems, announces an addition to their internationally recognized 22.5 mm Series 04 and 44 Emergency Stops (E-Stops) - protective shrouds both in 50mm and a larger 83mm version. The 83 mm shroud was specifically designed to meet the SEMI S2-93/12.4c requirement by featuring an outside diameter of over 3 inches to allow for palm actuation. Protection against accidental actuation is a feature especially important for semiconductor equipment. Other shrouds and sizes are available for different applications.
These two new protective shrouds are made of rugged Lexan for exceptional durability. Features include an anti-rotational notch and, for increased protection, the ability to lock with a padlock to prevent unauthorized re-setting of machinery. Additionally, a free actuation angle to release the E-Stop at approximately 210° can be specified for part number 704.927.8. Also, when used in conjunction with EAO's Series 04 and 44 E-stops, sealing of up to IP 65 standards to the front panel is maintained by an integral gasket found on both versions of the shroud.
Series 04 and Series 44 E-Stops are designed for long life and reliable service and ensure immediate stoppage through the use of safe/positive break contacts. Both series have a variety of features that make them ideal for use in harsh environments, and meet the requirements of machinery, medical/industrial x-ray, packaging, lifting and moving, food processing, and transportation applications. Modular components allow for varieties of configurations of up to 6NO/6NC arrangements.
EAO designers are aware of international standards and regulations that impact the design and use of E-Stops. EAO's products are RoHS and REACH compliant, meet UL requirements, Electrosuisse (a Swiss designation), DIN EN and CE (European Union) approvals.
