Providing propulsion and brake control for rail vehicles, FBS has modular design that is readily customizable and constructed for extended service life. Standard and custom handles are available with integrated buttons, and support is provided for various cam switched contacts as well as direct drive output choices. While ball bearing construction ensures smooth and precise control, range of voltage and current amplifiers are available to meet individual drive control requirements.

The new FBS Drive/Brake Controller from J.R. Merritt is ruggedly constructed for a long, reliable service life. The FBS provides propulsion and brake control for a variety of rail vehicles including locomotives, light rapid transit cars, trams, high-speed rail trains and maintenance-of-way equipment. Ball bearing construction ensures smooth, precise control.
The compact, modular design of the FBS Controller is readily customizable. For example, both standard and custom handles are available with integrated buttons for deadman, horn and more. Faceplates can be made to order with customer-specific engraving or screening.
J.R. Merritt's FBS Drive/Brake Controller supports a variety of cam switched contacts, as well as a large selection of direct drive output choices such as encoders, potentiometers, and 4-20 ma transmitters. Several voltage and current amplifiers are also available to meet individual drive control requirements.
