Trimble Unveils New Display for Its Autopilot Systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 27 /-- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced its new AgGPS® FieldManager(TM) display, a next-generation user interface for the AgGPS Autopilot(TM) systems providing automated steering and other precision agricultural functions.

"The FieldManager display offers virtually every feature an automated guidance user -- from entry level to the technically advanced -- could want," said Erik Arvesen, general manager of Trimble's Agricultural Division. "The display is intuitive and easy-to-use; no operator manual is needed." Trimble's AgGPS FieldManager is a next-generation display for the Autopilot system. The display uses Ag Leader customized hardware specifically designed for Trimble. Robust and eye-catching, the display features a large 10.4 inch touch screen with 3D perspective views. It is loaded with Trimble's new easy-to-use FieldManager software for GPS guidance, automated steering controls, multiple field pattern options, and record-keeping.

The AgGPS FieldManager display integrates seamlessly with the Autopilot system so that diagnostics, configuration, and calibration are simple to perform right from the display -- no need for external devices or configuration software.

With new 3D coverage logging offered by FieldManager, the operator can see where the vehicle has been, and color-coded mapping shows any skipped or overlapped areas. The system also saves field record data in Shapefiles for use in other applications.

"Two leading companies in precision farming have come together to offer this improved management tool for growers," added Arvesen. "We're very happy to be combining the extensive experience of Ag Leader Technology in precision agricultural hardware with the innovative features of Trimble's Autopilot system to provide the grower an ideal user interface and display for automated guidance."

The new FieldManager display is expected to be available from Trimble resellers in early February 2006. For more information, go to autopilotgps.com, www.trimble.com or call 800-865-7438.

The Trimble AgGPS Autopilot System

Trimble's AgGPS Autopilot system easily integrates to the vehicle's steering system to automatically guide it in consistent rows, pass after pass. Once on a row, the driver engages the AgGPS Autopilot system with the touch of a button to perform and oversee field operations. The driver, with hands-free operation, can concentrate on the task at hand such as planting or material application, rather than driving and the task. Automated steering allows machines to operate more hours in a day with considerably less stress on the operator. This technology translates to increased productivity for the farmer through more efficient utilization of tractors and extended working hours.
