Charmilles' New Roboform 23 Offers Increased Capabilities for Entry-Level EDM
Lincolnshire, Illinois, September 8, 2004 - Charmilles' Roboform 23 brings greater capabilities and increased user-friendliness to those seeking an entry-level diesinking EDM.
With controls similar to those found on the highly successful Roboform 35P, the Roboform 23 presents users with an easy to use interface. The machine implements SPS (Sinker Programming System), an offline system allowing the operator or mold designer to program complex diesinking applications with just a few mouse clicks. SPS also enables the machine operator to use command programs widely used for the efficient automation of Roboform diesinking machines.
The Roboform 23's short 'c' frame offers increased stability during machining. To ensure accuracy throughout operation, the X, Y and Z axes all include .5mm glass scales. When using copper to steel technology, the machine offers a surface finish to just .1 RA µm.
The Roboform 23 can handle workpieces weighing up to 440 lbs. The machine features large travels of up to 13.8 in. on the X-axis and 9.8 in. on the Y and Z axes.
A 4-position linear tool changer can be added to the machine for increased unmanned capabilities. Also available as an option, a C-axis capable of 1 rpm to 80 rpm can further enhance the machine's flexibility.
