Datamax-O'Neil's New E-Class Mark III Delivers Three Dimensions of Value - Affordable to Own, Easy to Use, and Economical to Operate

The E-Class Mark III thermal desktop printer series, available in four models, offers features and options to meet the most basic to highly complex application requirements

BOURG-LÈS-VALENCE, FRANCE - Datamax-O'Neil, a global provider of industrial grade label and receipt printing solutions, announces the availability of the E-Class Mark III, a totally new thermal desktop printer family that expands on the well established and globally successful E-Class product brand. The 4-inch label printer family combines high value with features and options typically offered in more expensive printers. Available in four distinct models, the E-Class Mark III has been designed to meet the broadest range of customer requirements and applications, including those in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, government and postal service.

The E-Class Mark III maximizes customer investment value by offering a competitive purchase price, while providing increased durability by utilizing proven designs and rugged double-walled construction. Fewer moving and longer-lasting parts ensure low maintenance requirements and superior reliability. The printer comes equipped with numerous language emulations and a selection of connectivity options to make replacement of existing printers or installation of new printers an easy process. In addition, an intuitive LCD screen and quick loading of media and ribbons makes it simple for users to maintain.

The E-Class Mark III reduces daily operational costs by minimizing power consumption with its stationary printhead design. The printer uses larger, more economical 300-meter ribbons that lower materials costs, and because the E-Class Mark III allows users to print only the number of labels that are required, there is no wasted media as experienced with laser or ink jet printers.

"Datamax-O'Neil conducted extensive market research and interviewed partners and end users around the world, and our efforts paid off with the introduction of the E-Class Mark III," said Christian Bischoff, Regional General Manager EMEA at Datamax-O'Neil. "Customers from diverse industries will be able to select one of four distinct printers and customize it with options that best suit their needs, all at a price lower than other printers in this category."

"In addition to our traditional thermal printer customers, the E-Class Mark III should strongly appeal to users of laser and inkjet printers," Bischoff explained. "Those printers are prone to constant cleaning and servicing because they are not designed to handle the adhesive applied to labels. Therefore, you can significantly lower maintenance costs, and by printing only the labels you need, there's virtually no waste. These are both important factors to consider, particularly with many of us focusing on 'green' initiatives."

The four printer models include:

Basic: For most barcoding applications requirements. It includes USB and serial ports with optional 300dpi, thermal transfer, and label. Advanced: For applications that require networking communications, faster print speeds, or special media handling. It expands on the Basic platform but includes parallel and Ethernet communication ports, a positionable media indexing sensor and prints up to 5 ips. Professional: For sophisticated applications that require a higher level of interface capabilities, higher performance, and wireless communications.

The Professional expands on the Advanced platform and features a graphical display with a navigational menu interface, real time clock, audible alarm, USB host connectivity, faster print speed, and optional wireless LAN and Bluetooth communications.

Professional Plus: For applications that require a large internal media capacity. It has all the features of the Professional, but includes a large internal roll, internal fan-folded media, and an optional cabinet lock.
