Telemecanique® Phaseo DC Power Supplies Have New, Compact Design

PALATINE, Ill. - June 17, 2004 - Schneider Electric has introduced three new lines of modular, competitively priced DC power supplies. They're part of a complete family of Telemecanique® Phaseo® DC power supplies incorporating the newest, most advanced solid state features such as integrated overload, short-circuit, overvoltage and undervoltage protection.

These new power supplies are regulated and switch-mode with adjustable outputs, and include three different lines: single-phase and three-phase power supplies and an ultra-compact version. Although these additions have the same family look, they feature a smaller, more compact enclosure and emit a lower current using the same voltage as the standard Phaseo power supplies.

Because these switching power supplies are totally electronic, their performance is significantly improved. New features include compact size and considerably reduced weight, a high degree of output voltage stability, a modular format allowing easy installation into control panels, and permit a very wide range of input voltages without any adjustment.

The Phaseo single-phase power supplies are designed to provide the DC voltage necessary for equipment control circuits and meet the needs of industrial, commercial and residential applications - 100 to 240 volts AC and 12 or 24 volt DC output. With a height of only 2 ¼ inches and a width of only 2 ¾ inches, these electronic switching power supplies provide high quality output current. Clear guidelines are given on selecting the upstream protection devices which are often used with them, thus providing a comprehensive solution.

The three-phase ABL7UPS is available in 10 Amps, 20 Amps and 40 Amps. All three models are designed to accept 420 to 520 volts AC and output 24-volt DC. By pulling less current and taking the power directly, these three-phase supplies are a cheap power solution.

At 3 inches, 1¾ inches wide and 2¾ inches deep, the ABL7CEM is the smallest, most compact member of the Phaseo family. It accepts 100 to 240 volts AC and outputs 24 volts DC. Like other Phaseo power supplies, it can accept a wide range of input voltage and will accept dual frequencies, covering 40 to 50 hertz in one unit.

All three Phaseo lines deliver a voltage which is accurate within 3 percent, regardless of load and supply voltage, within a supply voltage range of 85-264 VAC. They are suitable for general use, are UL listed and CSA certified, and conform to IEC standards. The inclusion of overload and short-circuit protection makes downstream protection unnecessary if discrimination is not required.

Phaseo power supplies are equipped with an output voltage adjustment potentiometer allowing compensation for any line voltage drops in installations with long cable runs. They are designed for direct mounting on 35 mm and 75 mm DIN track or direct panel mounting by means of retractable mounting feet.
