Esab Introduces Sabre DX Heavy-Duty Gantry Cutting Machine
Florence, SC - ESAB Cutting Systems introduces the new Sabre DX Heavy-Duty Gantry Cutting Machine. The Sabre DX is designed to provide many years of reliable service for fabricators, manufacturers, ship builders, or steel service centers of any size. Designed to carry plasma and oxy-fuel cutting stations, the new machine is easy to install and features the latest technology in drives, controls, and process equipment. The machine also features ESAB's m3 Precision Plasmarc(TM) system that allows the machine to cut and mark with the same plasma torch.
Available on the Sabre DX in 200, 360, 450 or 600 amp configurations, the m3 Plasma System combines multiple plasma cutting and marking features in a single easy-to-use system, producing high-quality precision cutting and marking on materials up to 1.5" thick, and sever capabilities on materials up to 6" thick. The m3 system allows ESAB to achieve superior cutting and marking results over a wide range of materials and thicknesses while requiring fewer different consumable parts, and produce a superior cut face with low dross, requiring little secondary clean up. The end result is superior cutting functionality and productivity, with minimal set-up time, downtime and consumable cost. The m3 system also features the most advanced gas control system in the industry, fully automated by ESAB's Vision CNC. The operator simply selects the material type and thickness, and the Vision CNC automatically selects and mixes the optimal start, cut and shield gas combination.
The Sabre DX can be equipped with up to two plasma systems. It can also carry up to six oxy-fuel torch stations, various marking tools, drills, routers or laser pointers.
Precision cutting and accuracy are ensured by the use of a three-axis precision gantry with rack-and-pinion drives; a precision linear way y-axis guiding system; rugged, welded main beam fabrication; digital AC drives and AC brushless motors. The low-profile gantry features all-steel construction with machined mating surfaces for stiffness and accuracy; dual side drives; and precision heavy-duty gearboxes for smooth motion and long life. The machine reaches speeds up to 1400 ipm (35560 mm/min).
The Sabre DX is available with machine sizes from 6' to 15' widths, and working lengths up to 100'. The machine rides on precision machined, heavy-duty 85# crane rails, mounted atop a 12" H-beam, for easy installation on any concrete floor. The machine is equipped with the Windows®-based Vision CNC, a powerful and versatile control for flat plate cutting machines. This control is easy to learn, easy to use, and features a built-in process database for easy plasma process setup, including graphical displays of torch parts and part numbers. The Vision CNC also provides network connectivity and USB support.
