Elsner Announces New Automated Machine for the Conversion of Festive and Seasonal Christmas Crackers and Bon-Bons
Elsner Engineering Works, Inc. announces its new Model WCM-30 Fully Automatic Christmas Cracker Converting Production Machine. This model is ideally suited for converting festive and seasonal Christmas crackers and bonbons for the party goods marketplace. Christmas crackers are very popular amongst children and adults alike throughout the world during the holiday season. The disposable cylindrical products with crimped ends are opened by pulling on both ends, which causes a popping noise and inside party goers will typically find a joke, toy and/or hat.
The unique ELSNER Model WCM-30 Cracker Converting Machine is designed to automatically convert finished crackers-including automated sequential manufacture of the cracker.
Beginning with flat pre-die cut sheets of either foil or paper backed laminated foil sheets, the machine will automatically place the sheet, apply the thin cardboard snap and wind up the cracker around a mandrel with automatic glue closure of the cylinder. The cracker is then automatically retrieved from the winding mandrel and placed onto a carousel whereby it is turned 90 degrees and one end is automatically crimped closed. Sequentially, the joke, toy and/or hat is then placed into the now vertical cylinder. Further indexing around the carousel, the top end is then crimped closed and the cracker is then indexed 90 degrees back to horizontal where it is discharged onto a take-away conveyor. Ribbons or ties around the crimped ends can be applied automatically as well as an option.
