GRANT, ALABAMA-Now cutting tool manufacturers and users can obtain carbide coolant hole rod from stock.
Firth Sterling coolant hole rods are available in straight (one or two holes) and helical (two coolant holes) configurations. The latest carbide grade is HU10, which is a 10% cobalt submicron grade suitable for machining a wide variety of materials.
The straight rod is available in diameters from 0.25 to 0.75 of an inch (6.25 to 20 mm). The helical rod is available from 0.1875 to 0.75 inch (4.5 mm to 20 mm). Lengths are available to customer specifications.
Applications include high performance rotary tools such as drill bits, end mills, and reamers.
