Spartanics Launches Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting System

(www.spartanics.com) Spartanics announces that it is now shipping the first Spartanics Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting Systems (http://www.spartanics.com/display/pro... ), compact laser cutters specifically tailored for label manufacturing and other narrow web applications. This narrow web laser cutting machine features the same sophisticated software engineering and other advanced functionality of the full-size Spartanics Finecut systems, but requires only half the physical space for operation and works inline with digital printers.

Developed in partnership with EFI(TM) JetrionŽ http://efi.com/products/production/jetrion/labels-packaging/index.asp ), the Spartanics Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting System is designed to work in line with the EFI's Jetrion 4000 Series UV Inkjet System (http://www.efi.com/products/productio... ). By combining the Jetrion 4000 UV Inkjet System from EFI with the new Spartanics Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting System, label converters will have unprecedented ability to do fast turnaround on small label orders. This EFI Jetrion and Spartanics technology combination is arguably the best equipment available in the world for label converters seeking to build a highly profitable niche in short run label applications.

Dr. Kenneth Stack, Vice President and General Manager of Jetrion Industrial Inkjet Systems explains that Jetrion's new UV inkjet system is aimed at the short run market, and finds a natural complement in the tool-free digital die cutting systems made by Spartanics. Stack says, "The Jetrion 4000 is the first narrow web digital press that delivers real economic value for run lengths up to 50,000 labels and beyond. Because the high-precision Spartanics Finecut Narrow Web Laser Cutting Systems avoid the time delay and costs of tool-based cutting technology, they enable users to fully realize the flexibility of Jetrion 4000 UV inkjet printers. Now, different size kiss-cut labels can be created on the fly, either by using the Spartanics system in-line with the Jetrion 4000 or off-line - with jobs proceeding from artwork to finished product within minutes."

Tom O'Hara, Spartanics President says, "Label manufacturers have needed a way to create labels with complex shapes in orders as small as 200 or 400 labels. Just as the Jetrion 4000 Series UV Inkjet Systems let them bypass delays for making offset printing plates, the Spartanics Finecut Laser Cutting Systems can be set up with a quick import of a digital file. Delays to make tooling are a thing of the past. Armed with this technology combination, label manufacturers are going to set new standards for immediate job turnarounds for their customers."

Rolling Meadows, Illinois, USA-headquartered Spartanics (www.spartanics.com) manufactures best-in-class technology for both tool-free (laser-based), steel rule die, and male/female hard tool cutting systems, among other equipment for finishing products made from flat stock materials. Its worldwide service organization uses state-of-the-art virtual service technician technology and also maintains offices and spare parts in Europe.
