Connecting to HART device in 15 sec, Model MFC 4100 HART® Communicator allows pick up and hold communication over range of loop resistances down to 60 W. With 2 backlight intensity levels, unit features secured barrel type ac adapter connection and two 9 V alkaline batteries that provide 20 hr of continuous use. Handheld device offers direct numeric, alpha, and symbol entry.

New Improved MFC 4100 Hart® Communicator
Cleveland, OH - Meriam Process Technologies is now shipping an improved MFC 4100 HART® Communicator. The enhanced MFC has all the same ordering options as the original, but incorporates a number of great improvements including:
Expanded HART connectivity
o Pick up and hold communication with HART devices over a wider range of loop resistances; down to 60 ohms in some instances.
Improved contrast adjustment
o Characters never completely disappear. Release contrast button for 1 second and re-press to reverse the direction of adjustment.
New secured barrel type AC Adapter connection
o Robust barrel plug style connection. Users can secure the connection with AC Adapter's threaded collar if desired.
Two backlight intensity levels standard
o A medium and a high intensity backlight available through the backlight key.
New user's manual
o The new manual provides guidance for all features present in the MFC.
Other major benefits include faster availability - Connect the MFC to a HART device and in 15 seconds or less you will be communicating with the device. It is small, light, and easy to handle - a handheld and not a hand full. Two 9-volt alkaline batteries provide over 20 hours of continuous use and the MFC offers direct numeric, alpha, and symbol entry.
The Review / Edit Mode allows users to step through each parameter of a HART device and review its setup even if the user has forgotten how to navigate through the HART menu. All editable parameters can be edited from the same display.
