Sylvania Introduces the 320-Watt Metalarc Powerball Ceramic Lamp

The Energy Saving Solution for Color Critical Applications

New York, N.Y. (April 12-14, 2005) - SYLVANIA has taken efficiency to the next level with the 320-watt METALARC® POWERBALL® lamp with an amazing 117 lumens per watt. The lamp incorporates advanced POWERBALL arc tube technology for improved color properties over cylindrical ceramic and quartz metal halide lamps.

Available in clear or coated versions, these lamps are the energy efficient alternative over 350-watt and 400-watt ceramic metal halide lamps for new installations or major renovation projects. The 320-watt METALARC POWERBALL MCP complies with the 2005 National Electric code for use in open fixtures.

By switching to the 320-watt lamp, end users will reduce energy consumption by 20 percent without sacrificing lighting quality.

"The super efficacy level of this lamp is a tribute to a global research and development effort at OSRAM SYLVANIA," said Bob Nigrello, HID Marketing Manager at OSRAM SYLVANIA. "All users are concerned about offsetting rising energy costs without sacrificing their high quality lighting. The MCP 320-watt addresses both those needs and features a CRI of 85+. The efficiency and lumen maintenance of these lamps approach that of fluorescent systems in a point source package."

The SYLVANIA 320-watt METALARC POWERBALL lamp is ideal for big box retail stores, grocery stores, industrial paint shops, gymnasium lighting, canopy lighting and other color critical areas.
