New CUT 150 Carton Machine with Enhanced Capacity

Bosch Augments Line Feeding Portfolio

Small footprint machine can handle large carton formats

Output of 150 folded boxed per minute

Universal screw feeders for assembly of 450 single or multiple packages per minute

High security through Track-and-Trace module, and 2D-Matrix-Code

Bosch Packaging Technology has developed the CUT 150 cartoning machine with enhanced efficiency and new feeding technology, based on the proven CUT 120 cartoning machine. The flexible CUT 150 is suitable for the packaging of products in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industry for single or multiple package operations.

The cartoning machine facilitates the packaging of vials, bottles, blister sachets, and pillow packs or inserts such as spoons or folded leaflets. The efficiency of the new CUT machine has improved from 120 to 150 folding boxes per minute. The screw feeder and the pick-and-place feeding achieve an output of 450 packages per minute.

Even prior to sorting products in the folding box, the single content components are examinated for errors in quality to ensure that no defective products enter the production process. For enhanced production security the system features a track and trace system for mass serialization with a 2D matrix code. The 2D-Matrix- Code allows clear identification and traceability of the entire folding box and content. This marking technology protects against counterfeiting and provides additional security for the consumer.

The modern servo-design simplifies format changeover. One CUT combines the usage of different folding box modules (track-in, hot- melt-, safety-, and combined closure).

The modular construction of the machine allows for economical additions to the packaging line to account for changing market or production conditions. During the development of the CUT 150 the engineers avoided chains. In comparison to other commercially available machines, there is no switching station for chains or drive belt disks, making lubrication unnecessary and reducing the maintenance of the cartoning machine.

"We have significantly upgraded the proven technology of the CUT 120. The current CUT 150 is much quicker, more flexible, and offers enormous production security which is very important, especially in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries" says Uwe Stroinski product manager at Bosch.
