M-Real Introduces New Cartonboard Grade Carta Elega at Drupa 2008

Carta Elega is the new member in M-real's range of lightweight and fit-for-purpose cartonboards. This two-side coated folding boxboard combines superior visual smoothness with high brightness and equal bluish-white shade on both sides providing excellent print quality. Excellent surface properties make it ideal for foil lamination and special features. Carta Elega is designed especially for high quality packaging such as beautycare and graphical applications.

In addition to superior printing properties, Carta Elega continues the lightweighting theme of M-real cartonboards. Lighter weight boards bring both cost savings and create less waste throughout the value chain. "On top of lightweighting, we are setting new, tighter industry standards on quality consistency, which enables improved runnability in converting lines meaning also cost savings as well as less waste", says Mika Joukio, EVP M-real Consumer Packaging.

Carta Elega is available in 200-380 gsm (123-233 lbs/3000ft²) and produced at M-real Kyro mill in Finland.
