Sullins' High-Temperature Edgecards Series for 0.062" Daughtercards Now Includes Multiple Termination Options

RoHS-Compliant Devices Feature 1 MM Centerline Spacing and More than 50 Contacts Per Linear Inch for Demanding High-Density Applications

San Marcos, CA, October 24, 2005...Sullins Electronics, a global leader in the design and manufacture of board level interconnect products announced the expansion of their high-temperature edgecard series to now include staggered dip solder, and card extender/SMT parts as well as those featuring right angle bend terminations. The RoHS-compliant series, featuring 1.00 mm (.039") contact centers, is engineered to facilitate the durable board-to-board interconnection of .062" +/- .008" daughtercards. Offering 50 signals per linear inch, and rated to withstand 150 degrees C continual heat, the double-row connectors provide superior electrical and physical characteristics, along with the utmost in design flexibility, signal integrity and manufacturing efficiencies.

The newly broadened series is ideally suited for use in a wide range of high-temperature, high pin count, lead-free applications requiring the circuit connection of PCBs (motherboards) to 0.062" daughterboards. Typically, they may be confidently specified for employment in burn-in testing, security systems, computer peripherals, and general industrial, commercial and consumer applications.

Recognized under the Component Program of UL and C-UL, the connectors are manufactured of high-density dielectric material facilitating their extended -65 to +150 degrees C temperature range. They provide a single contact rating of 1 Amp, and daughtercard engagement force of 1.5N (150 grams) nominal per contact. Edgecards are provided with high cycle hairpin bellow contacts in configurations ranging from 2/4 to 50/100 (in signal increments). Devices also feature selective gold plating, and may be ordered with PPS or PA9T insulators. A broad array of mounting styles, molded-in keying options, and customization is available.
