Touch International Raises the Bar with New ExtremeTouch Projected Capacitive Modules

Austin, TX - November 18, 2009 - Touch International, a global leader in the touch screen industry, announces today the release of the ExtremeTouch Projected Capacitive Touch Screen Modules. Designed to raise the bar with its portable, plug and play design, the ExtremeTouch Modules are the latest in an innovative new product line offering a fresh solution with either single touch or two-finger touch (gesture).

Well equipped with a general purpose projected capacitive controller and a touch screen mounted on a LCD, these one piece, cutting edge modules do not require any set up or system integration. Without the need for integration, each kit can be configured to virtually any program and adapted to suit the needs of almost any application.

"The Projected Capacitive Modules are an excellent tool for engineers to see how our projected capacitive technology works and how easy it is to integrate into their system," says Kelvin Tran, Senior Vice President of Touch International. "By mounting and configuring these modules on a backer board, we are able to eliminate most of the variables that might cause interference or product failures when customers evaluate the product, saving them time and money."

Now available in six different sizes (3.5", 7.0", 8.4", 10.4", 12.1", 15.0"), these modules are ideal for ATMs, web phones, outdoor kiosks, medical instruments and retail signature capture. Requiring only a slight touch to activate, no pressure is necessary, allowing these touch screens to be precise, highly responsive and virtually maintenance free.

The projected capacitive technology used in these devices is known for its immunity to moisture, dirt and extremes in temperature, as well as its strong resistance to surface scratches. While other touch technologies wear out after a few years and are not practical for outdoor use because of lighting and extreme temperature issues, the ExtremeTouch Modules are exceptionally rugged and durable and can be used almost anywhere.
