Essentials at sea
Being a former Merchant Seaman, how I wish we had these cameras in my day. Continental have really seen the problems, especially with unmanned engine rooms at night. I do not see forward vision cameras mentioned although I am assuming this is just an ommission because this is equally as important as side and rear, if not more so. The consequences of a boat/ship hitting a large object head-on does not bear thinking about - even a whale ! I am very impressed with the way that Continental and it's largest shareholder The Schaeffler Group are striding forward in these difficult times in Europe. But seeing their current expansion plans take in countries where labour /overheads are considerably lower, such as Hungary, Russia and Asia, it seems that shrewd investments and forward planning are the key factors here.
