New Hydraulic Caliper Disc Brake

Ogura has developed a new series of hydraulic caliper disc brake, model HOB-CP. The brake operates when hydraulic pressure is applied. The more pressure applied, the greater the braking torque. There are currently three sizes available: model HOB-360CP, HOB-1200CP and HOB-2800CP. They have a maximum clamping force of 810 lbs. 2,700 lbs. and 6,300 lbs. respectively. Besides modifying pressure to change torque in an application, multiple brake modules can be used as well as multiple brake discs. The brakes are primarily designed for heavy duty work in machining centers and machine tools. Their modular design makes them easy to assemble and easy to replace, reducing machine down time. Besides machine tool applications, these brakes can also be used in industrial applications where cost effective high torque is required.
Ogura has been producing clutches and brakes since 1938. Over that time, we have developed over 5,000 different models of clutches and brakes. Although Ogura primarily produces electromagnetic clutches and brakes, we also produce magnet particle, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and a variety of specialty products. Ogura is the world's largest manufacturer of electromagnetic clutches and brakes. Current manufacturing capacity is over 30 million units per year. To provide localized support, we have fourteen manufacturing plants spread throughout the world in Asia, The Americas, and Europe. All manufacturing facilities are ISO recognized and conform to the ISO 9001;2008, ISO 140001, and ISO/TS 16949.
