Silvertronic’s Cable Reel Extension
Newport Beach, California – February 9, 2004 – Silvertronic introduces a new Cable Reel Extension, with 40 feet (12 meters) of test lead. The test lead is conveniently mounted onto a small 4” x 4” cable reel, and is designed for use with industries leading multimeters, and other test instruments with 4 mm banana sockets.
The Cable Reel Extension ensures quick, accurate and safe measurements, when long distant probing of electrical circuits is required, or preferred for ease of testing. The Cable Reel quickly provides up to 40 additional feet of wire, and with the use of the handle, can quickly be wound back onto the reel at end of testing. Application examples include access to high overhead test points in power stations, maintenance facilities, factories, and long reach access to test signals during repair of transportation equipment.
Test leads are terminated with a right angle banana plug and 4 mm banana socket. The right angle plug interfaces to the test instruments, and the socket plugs into the original meter test lead. The wire feature over 250 fine strands of highly flexible double insulated Silicone wire. Silicone resists chemical abrasion from some oils and chemicals, and is impervious to damage from high temperatures, such as from soldering irons. As an added safety feature, the inner layer of insulation is in contrasting color, and acts as a wear indicator, if the outer layer is nicked, preventing electrical shock or shorts.
