Lyndex-Nikken Offers New High-Speed, Dual-Axis CNC Rotary Table
Mundelein, IL - (January 28, 2004) New from Lyndex-Nikken, the 5AX-350WA21PW CNC Rotary Table reaches high-speed rotations of 22.2 rpm. Tilt axis rotation speeds reach 16.6 rpm. The incorporation of Lyndex-Nikken's patented carbide worm system makes this rotary table especially ideal for high-speed rotation.
The carbide worm system uses a cabide worm screw and ion nitrided worm wheel, rather than a conventional bronze or bronze alloy actuation mechanism. The result is a reduction in friction and wear by up to eight times. The worm screw consists of a less brittle V-grade form of carbide, while the worm gear is ion nitrided to a depth of 0.1 mm and an external surface hardness of 68 Rc. These properties, as well as a steel way hardened to 58-60 Rc, all work to enhance system rigidity and longevity.
Lyndex-Nikken's latest rotary table allows for the machining of five sides of a workpiece. It features a drop trunion and clamping torque of 2000Nm at hyd. 3.5 Pa. Available as an option is a built-in six ports rotary joint.
